Government priority to make the youth power of the state technically strong and self -reliant: CM Yogi

Lucknow. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath presided over the review meeting of technical and vocational education departments at the government residence in Lucknow district. He instructed to further empower practical studies in universities and engineering colleges and emphasized on ensuring availability of quality laboratories. Also, instructions were also given to complete the appointment process for all vacant posts of academic and non-educational category.

He said, in the last 08 years, the encouraging results of concrete initiatives made by the state government are being reflected in the direction of making technical education more accessible, quality, innovative and result. For quality education, all technical institutions should participate in NAC, NBA and NIRF evaluation, but comprehensive preparations should be ensured before the application. All the projects to the construction and campus development of the newly appointed Government Engineering College Basti, Gonda, Mirjapur and Pratapgarh should be completed within the stipulated time, so that these colleges can be operated from their private premises from the next academic session. Local industrial requirements and possibilities should be given priority while starting new courses in any institute.

The Chief Minister further said, technical and vocational education should be linked more deeply to industries. Each student should ensure a certain period of industrial internship with training. It is the government's priority to make the youth power of the state technically strong and self -reliant. Education should be a practical, skillful and useful system rather than only a medium of getting a certificate. Uttar Pradesh is moving forward with a visionary and strong policy in the field of technical education. Effective implementation of all schemes and programs should be ensured and every youth should be provided opportunities according to their skills, so that the concept of 'self -sufficient India' can be realized.

Also, during this time he was made aware that, in a total of 1.64 lakh seats for the year 2024-25 in Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University, Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow. The university has reorganized courses as per the National Education Policy-2020, including MOOC based studies, choice based credit system, multiple entry-exit and integrated programs. In the session 2023-24, 12,739 students of the university got employment, of which the maximum annual salary was ₹ 59.91 lakh. Similarly, in the year 2023-24 at Madan Mohan Malaviya University of Technology, Gorakhpur, students got placement in reputed companies on package up to ₹ 52 lakh annual salary.
