Lucknow : Fisheries Development Cabinet Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Dr. Sanjay Kumar Nishad has instructed the officials to organize a fair and awareness camp and provide all the information to the pond lease holders at one place, so that they can get more benefits of the schemes. He said that the lease process should be completed six months in advance by coordinating with rural development, Panchayati Raj and Revenue Council.

Dr. Nishad said that production should be increased by adopting innovative experiments in the field of fisheries technology and the state should be made self -sufficient in fisheries production. This will increase revenue and increase employment opportunities in rural areas. He stressed on encouraging the fisherman community for self -employment and economic progress by joining fisheries business.

He directed that information about the projects operated under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana, Mukhyamantri Matsya Sampada Yojana, Nishad Raj Boat Scheme, and Uttar Pradesh Fisheries Welfare Fund should be delivered to more and more people. Also, the participation of women in these schemes should be ensured.

The fisheries minister instructed to increase the number of fisheries mobile sales centers and shops, to include inappropriate water areas in development programs and to speed up the landless fishermen through Kisan Credit Card. He said that the schemes should be implemented at high speed and with transparency.

On this occasion, Principal Secretary Fisheries Development. Ravindra Nayak, Director General of Fisheries Rajesh Prakash, Chief General Manager of Uttar Pradesh Matsya Vikas Nigam Limited and Managing Director of Uttar Pradesh Matsya GV Cooperative Union were present. The Principal Secretary assured that all the instructions would be strictly followed and action will be taken against the negligent officials.
