The Patna Amidst the heightened tensions between India and Pakistan, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) held a magnificent ‘Rana Bhamashah Sammelan’ at the Bapu Auditorium in Patna on the anniversary of Maharana Pratap’s birth to pay tribute to the renowned Rajput warrior and encourage patriotism.
The event was supposed to be inaugurated via video conference by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, however he was unable to attend because of urgent national security meetings.
He did, however, send a statement expressing his support and concern for the event’s participants.
The minister of Bihar’s public health and engineering department, Neeraj Kumar Singh Bablu, praised Maharana Pratap’s affection for both animals and people from all walks of life while recalling his opposition to Mughal control.
He emphasised the value of democracy and togetherness, stating, “This is not lathi-tantra; everyone must be taken along.”
He said, “Pakistan is crying for help — soon, it will not find anyone to even give it water.” He claimed that India’s military had delivered Pakistan a serious blow.
The Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, Vijay Kumar Sinha, highlighted Maharana Pratap’s selflessness and his symbolic defiance by consuming grass roti in the face of hardship.
He urged harmony between classes and faiths and cautioned against social divides.
In the same spirit that Maharana Pratap exhibited, he called on the populace to stand up against challenges to India’s integrity.
The president of the Bihar BJP, Dilip Jaiswal, attributed Maharana Pratap’s bravery to “Operation Sindoor” and India’s military reaction in Pahalgam and Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK).
He praised Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying they are continuing the heritage of Maharana Pratap.
“We are in a state of war even today,” BJP leader Jaiswal said. Home Minister Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi are defending the country in the same way that Maharana Pratap did centuries ago.
Bihar’s deputy chief minister, Samrat Choudhary, called the event a lesson for Pakistan as well as a celebration.
He said that the country is progressing under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, drawing a comparison between the historical team of Maharana Pratap and Bhamashah.
He said, “The day war is announced, Pakistan’s name and trace will be erased within 48 hours.”
He urged the public to support the Indian Armed Forces and urged young people to strike a balance between education and bravery.
In the face of persistent tensions across the border, the occasion acted as a rallying cry for bravery, solidarity, and steadfast support for the Indian government and armed forces.
In order to promote a sense of patriotism and national pride, BJP leaders often invoked Maharana Pratap’s heritage.
