Jamia Millia Islamia Exam: For candidates from Jammu and Kashmir in particular, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has announced the rescheduling of its admission exams, which were initially planned for May 10 and 11, 2025. Following Operation Sindoor, a military operation by Indian forces against terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, and ongoing cross-border shelling that has forced mass evacuations in multiple districts of Jammu and Kashmir, tensions between India and Pakistan have escalated, prompting this urgent decision.
According to the institution, the decision was taken “with the current circumstances and the welfare of students in mind.” All other candidates will take their entrance examinations according to the original timetable; however, students from Jammu and Kashmir will be given other dates.
Some important programs were originally planned for May 10 and 11; however, the admission tests for the 2025–26 academic year started on April 26 and are expected to end by May 31.
This decision comes after impacted students and student groups requested a delay and further assistance, including the creation of nearby testing locations and dorm amenities. JMI’s prompt action is intended to prevent any disadvantages for students from the conflict-affected area during this crucial admissions cycle.
Students should often visit the JMI admission portal at [admission.jmi.ac.in] for official updates and updated test dates.
