Team India and Delhi Capitals' keeper-batter KL Rahul was seen getting out of Mumbai Airport after the BCCI suspended IPL 2025 for a week amid escalating border tensions between India and Pakistan. A video of the same surfaced on Instagram as the Karnataka-born cricketer was seen getting into the car to go home.

Rahul was in action when in Dharamsala during the IPL 2025 game between the Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals when a floodlight failure occurred after 10.1 overs. It later emerged that a few Pakistani drones had attacked a handful of bordering Indian cities and the match had to eventually be abandoned. On Friday, the BCCI also announced the tournament's suspension for a week.

The 33-year-old had been in promising form in IPL 2025, accumulating 381 runs in 11 matches at 47.62 alongside a best of 93*.

"BCCI will definitely complete IPL" - Sourav Ganguly

During a recent interview with The India Today, ex-Indian captain Sourav Ganguly expressed optimism about BCCI completing the tournament. At the same time, Ganguly suggested that a seven-day break was needed, with the country being in the middle of a sensitive situation.

"Even where there were so many problems in 2020 and 2021, the IPL was still completed. The BCCI is so efficient that they will certainly complete the IPL. BCCI will definitely complete IPL. It’s a seven-day break, the tournament will be extended by seven days as well if needed."
