Urban Decay has launched a brand-new setting spray in time for summer that will ensure the face stays hydrated and makeup remains in place no matter how warm the weather gets. I am a big fan of the brand's original , which I have used for over a decade, as it is the only product that makes my makeup last from morning until night without the need for touch-ups.
I couldn't wait to get my hands on Urban Decay's new to see how it would compare to the original. The product contains a blend of hyaluronic acid and watermelon extract that refreshes makeup with a hydrating spritz of moisture and provides a dewy finish. The brand says the setting spray 'encourages a plumper, bouncier appearance' and 'protects makeup against smudging or transferring for improved longevity'.
Urban Decay's Hyaluronic Setting Spray costs £29 at , so is the same price as the popular that's available at Boots. The MAC spray also hydrates, primes, sets and refreshes makeup, with the alcohol-free formula featuring vitamins and minerals, green tea, chamomile and cucumber extracts.

Beauty fans looking for a more budget-friendly alternative may be interested in the . Costing £10 at Superdrug, this fine mist provides 'major makeup grip' and also gives the skin a dewy finish.

After applying my makeup at 8am in the morning, it was time to put Urban Decay's to the test. I spritzed it all over my face and the first thing I noticed was the delicious watermelon fragrance which is perfect for summer, as it's super refreshing and reminds me of sunny days.
The mist is finer than the original which I expected, as it's described as being a lightweight formula. I felt I needed to apply more spritzes when compared to the original to ensure my whole face was covered, but within seconds it had completely absorbed. The gave my skin a gorgeous dewy finish that really made the highlighter on my cheekbones, nose, cupid's bow and inner eyes pop.
When I came to take my makeup off at 9pm that night, my makeup looked as fresh as it did in the morning, with my highlighter still gleaming and the few blemishes I had were still hidden. I did have to reapply my lipstick after eating which is normal, as no setting spray has ever kept my lippie on. I sometimes need to reapply powder on the shiny parts of my face, especially on hot days, but I didn't need to do any touch-ups thanks to the setting spray.
I've used Urban Decay's several times since my first trial, including on bare skin when my face has required some much-needed hydration and cooling on hot days. It provided instant relief and gave my natural skin a lovely refreshed look.
The only downside to the product is that, because I need to use several spritzes each time to feel like my face is completely covered, the bottle probably won't last me as long as the original All Nighter does. I'll still be reaching for the original when I want a more matte finish, however I have no doubt the will be my go-to face mist throughout summer to keep my skin feeling hydrated and my makeup looking pristine with a stunning dewy finish.
