Hash browns are typically made from shredded potatoes that are fried until golden brown. They can be picked up frozen from most supermarkets and are super tasty.
However, many people prefer the taste and texture of homemade hash browns to store-bought ones, and they are super easy to make. Good Food recently shared a which requires just three ingredients and less than five minutes to .
Ingredients:Three medium-sized potatoes - make sure to use potatoes such as Maris Piper or King Edwards as they will produce the best results
50g butter, melted
Four tablespoons of sunflower oil
Method:Boil the potatoes in a saucepan for 10 minutes and then set aside until cool enough to handle.
Coarsely grate the potatoes into a bowl, discarding any skin that comes off as you grate.
Season well with salt and pepper and pour over half the butter. Mix well and then divide the mix into eight and shape into patties or squares.
The hash browns can be prepared a day ahead and chilled until ready to cook or frozen for up to a month.

To cook, heat the oil and the remaining butter in a frying pan until sizzling and gently fry the hash browns in batches if needed.
They should take around four to five minutes on each side for "crisp and golden" results.
Serve straight away or leave in a low oven to keep warm. These are perfect alongside a full English breakfast or even a bacon sandwich.
