New Delhi: Against a backdrop of the 3,23,74,851 Square Metres of the Siswan Forest Range and the foothills of the Himalayas, The Oberoi Sukhvilas Spa Resort presents a landscape of beautiful gardens with fountains, reflection pools and traditional architecture. As a part of the ongoing food and beverage offerings, Kaanan at The Oberoi Sukhvilas has introduced a new menu.
Kaanan is known for a one-of-a-kind, authentic Indian dining experience. Meaning ‘forest’ in Sanskrit, Kaanan is a speciality Indian restaurant serving cuisine influenced by Punjab’s diverse heritage of historic empires. The restaurant occupies an elevated position overlooking a water body and offers indoor seating or al fresco dining complemented by forest fragrances.
Every dish at Kaanan represents a story of love, wisdom, and time-honoured cooking techniques passed down through generations. The Masterchefs at the resort have travelled through Punjab’s bustling cities and quiet villages, uncovering the essence of forgotten family recipes and reviving culinary traditions that once graced the royal courts of Maharajas and the humble kitchens of Punjab’s heartland.
Kaanan’s menu is a tribute to Punjab’s culinary history, where tradition meets innovation to create dishes that are deeply rooted in culture yet presented with a modern touch. The use of slow-cooking techniques, traditional clay ovens, and locally sourced ingredients ensures that every bite is infused with authenticity and soul. Guests can indulge in flavourful curries, robust tandoori delicacies, slow-cooked dals, and heirloom recipes—all served in an ambience that reflects the warmth and hospitality synonymous with Punjab. The restaurant’s design, inspired by Punjab’s vibrant landscapes and regal past, offers an elegant yet inviting space, making it an ideal setting for both intimate gatherings and grand celebrations.
Exciting new flavours await at Kaanan to delight every palate. From the small plates, Amrud aur Malai ki Chaat, a refreshing Indian snack made with juicy guava, rich cream, and tangy spices, is a must-try. Another delectable choice, a modern, fusion twist on the traditional Sarson Ka Saag, which is a beloved North Indian dish made from mustard greens (sarson) cooked with spices, is called Lehsooni Saag aur Burrata. Khade Masale ki Chaapein is another gem in the new menu. Lastly, Ludhiana Truffle Malai Chicken is a delectable chicken dish prepared in truffle oil and black pepper.
At Kaanan, we invite you to experience not just food, but a journey—a journey through Punjab’s timeless flavours, rich traditions, and heartfelt hospitality. Every plate is a reflection of the chef’s discoveries, crafted with passion and plated with love, ensuring an unforgettable dining experience. This is all complemented by the sincere Oberoi Service.
The new menu is available at Kaanan at The Oberoi Sukhvilas for dinner from Monday to Sunday and for lunch on Saturday and Sunday from 1st March onwards.
