On Mother's Day, actor Ali Fazal shared a touching throwback on Instagram. The Mirzapur and Fukrey star posted a childhood photo with his late mother, along with an emotional caption expressing his deep love and how much he still misses her.
“Miss you today. Miss you hard”
The picture shows a young Ali Fazal happily sitting on his mother’s lap, smiling at the camera. Fans felt emotional seeing the photo, especially because of the touching message he shared with it.
Ali Fazal wrote, “Miss you today. Miss you hard,” in his emotional caption. He admitted he hasn’t been very active on social media but felt this memory was too special not to share. He expressed regret about not recording more videos with his mother, “Wish I had made videos with you in them (selfish of me to want to look at them? Eh…) I suppose nature’s slimy ways of filling memories with new memories in an attempt to fade the old ones.”

"The whiz is more quantummy… It’s there, it’s my ally"
Ali Fazal continued to share his thoughts in a poetic way, talking about how time can make memories fade and feel unclear. He used the example of trees flashing by from a train to describe how some memories come and go quickly, yet still stay close to the heart—like his memories of his mother. He said, “The whiz is more quantummy… It’s there, it’s my ally,” showing how he holds on to her presence in his own special way.
“Time, on the other hand, doesn’t do a good job… So we dispel it, using tools and drama and other stories surrounding stories within stories. Now imagine someone tangible turning into a whiz. Not a bad deal if you ask me, he further added.
Ali lost his mother on June 17, 2020, due to serious health issues. Her death left a big emptiness in his life, and his recent post is a heartfelt tribute to her memory.
Work front
Talking about his professional front, the actor has some exciting projects coming up. He will appear in Metro… In Dino, directed by Anurag Basu, alongside Sara Ali Khan , Aditya Roy Kapur , Konkona Sensharma, Neena Gupta, Pankaj Tripathi , and Fatima Sana Shaikh. He is also set to star in Rakht Brahmand, a period fantasy thriller by Raj & DK with Samantha Ruth Prabhu . Fans can also look forward to Mirzapur: The Movie and Thug Life in the coming months.
