While border tensions between India and Pakistan have brought cricket to a standstill, a cheeky clip from across the border has gone viral.

Pakistani cricketers were seen taking a light dig at India using the now-infamous “fantastic tea” line in a casual team setting.

In the video, leg-spinner Abrar Ahmed offers “fantastic chai” to teammates during a relaxed hangout. Players including Babar Azam, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Fakhar Zaman and Mohammad Amir can be seen cracking up as they join in on the banter.

The timing of the clip raised eyebrows, especially after the tension at the border, with many Indian fans calling it "unnecessary".

PSL suspended, PCB puts a pause on all cricket

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed that all major domestic tournaments, including the Grade II President’s Trophy, the Inter-District Cups, and Under-19 fixtures, have been put on hold due to the escalating situation along the LOC.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially pulled the plug on PSL X and several domestic tournaments after fresh escalation at the Line of Control (LOC).

As per a late-night release, the remaining eight PSL matches are now postponed indefinitely.

“The last 24 hours have seen a worsening of the situation on the LOC, increased incursion of 78 drones, and the firing of surface-to-surface missiles from India,”

The call came after Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif advised cricket authorities to step back, citing rising military activity and national focus shifting to defence efforts.

Along with PSL, the PCB also halted the Grade II President’s Trophy, the Regional Inter-District Cup, and the U-19 Inter-District One-Day Tournament.

“Player safety is non-negotiable. With mobility restrictions and troop presence in key areas, continuing play wasn’t possible,” a PCB release said.

The board also acknowledged concerns raised by foreign players and their families, adding that “cricket must take a respectful pause when the country is facing such reckless aggression.”

Notably, India has also the Indian Premier League for one week. Currently, the board is exploring new venues to host the remaining matches.
