Central Board of Secondary Education, i.e., CBSE, will soon release the notification of the CTET July session. CTET will be organized in June-July 2025, and that is why it is expected that the notification of CTET will be released in a few days on the official website, ctet.nic.in. When the notification is released, the candidates can download its PDF, in which they will get information about eligibility criteria to application fees, exam dates, and exam pattern, etc.

The exam is held twice a year.
CBSE conducts the CTET exam twice a year, in July and December. Candidates who are successful in CTET Paper-1 are eligible for teacher recruitment for classes 1 to 5, while candidates who are successful in Paper-2 are eligible for teacher recruitment for classes 6 to 8. Candidates who pass this exam are also eligible to become teachers in Kendriya Vidyalayas, Navodaya Vidyalayas, and Army schools across the country.

What are the eligibility criteria?

Candidates who have passed 12th with 50 percent marks and two years of Diploma in Elementary Education or 12th with 50 percent marks and 4 years of B.Ed degree can apply for CTET Paper-1. At the same time, candidates applying for CTET Paper-2 should have a Graduation and a B.Ed degree with 50 percent marks, a Graduation and a Diploma in Elementary Education, 12th pass with 50 percent marks, and 4 years B.Ed degree.

What are the passing marks?

To pass the CTET exam, general category candidates need to score at least 90 marks out of 150 i.e., 60 percent marks, while SC, ST candidates need to score 82 marks out of 150 i.e., 55 percent marks.
