Sports desk: In view of the increasing tension between India and Pakistan, the BCCI has postponed the IPL for a week. After the postponement of the IPL, all the foreign players playing in this tournament have started returning to their respective countries. At the same time, the BCCI is considering to resume this tournament.
According to ESPNcricinfo report, the teams participating in the tournament are now shattered and the players are leaving for their home. Especially foreign players have started flying from India to their respective countries. By Saturday, most international players will leave India for their country.
The franchise itself decides
On Friday, when BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia was asked whether foreign players and support staff were given the option to leave India. If they are feeling uncomfortable, they replied to the Reuters that it does not come under our jurisdiction. Every franchise takes the decision about what to do about foreign players.
IPL can start in these places
The report also stated that the BCCI can resume this tournament after a week. The IPL is now being considered to be held in eastern and southern cities of the country. Which includes cities like Kolkata, Hyderabad, Chennai and Bengaluru. Now if the tournament starts after a week, then the franchisees are going to be very difficult.
BCCI, who is preparing to resume IPL 2025, will now be played in these cities
The BCCI and franchisees will be a big question whether foreign players will come back after a week or not. It will also be guessed. Now this can be a big challenge for boards and franchises. The final of the tournament was scheduled to be held on May 25, but if it is pulled beyond it, the problem may increase.
Apart from this, many players from Australia and South Africa may have already joined their country’s team to prepare for the World Test Championship (WTC) final. The match will be played at Lord’s from 11 June.
