Hyderabad: With educational institutions’ closure in northern Indian States of Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and Rajasthan, as tension remained escalated between India and Pakistan, uncertainty looms over the conduct of different national-level entrance examinations across the country.
The National Testing Agency (NTA), which is conducting the Common University Entrance Test (UG) 2025 from May 13, is yet to release the admit cards for the entrance test held for admissions to undergraduate programmes offered by participating central universities.
The NTA released the examination advance city intimation slip for the CUET UG on May 7, scheduling issuance of admit cards four days prior to the examination. However, the agency did not release the admit cards for the first examination until Saturday.
Further, the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2025 is also facing a cloud of uncertainty. The entrance test for admissions to Indian Institutes of Technology is scheduled for May 18.
The registrations and payment of fee concluded on May 2 and 5 respectively with issuance of admit cards slated for May 11.
Given the situation the country is facing, it remains to be seen whether IIT-Kanpur, which is organising the test, will release the admit cards or defer the exam.
