According to a report from Market footballFacundo Medina (25) is keen to leave RC Lens for Olympique de Marseille this summer. However, as things currently stand, a deal between the two clubs appears as if it will be difficult to complete.
Lens are looking for a minimum transfer fee of €25 million for the Argentine international who still has three years left on his contract. This is a price that Marseille would be unwilling to match, with Market football writing that the club are committed to not overspending in the upcoming window. Furthermore, Medina’s representatives are reportedly asking for their player to be well-compensated.
These two factors are thought to be enough to put the brakes on a deal for the defender, and Phocaeans will likely be exploring other options as they look to strengthen their defence for next season. Aymeric Laporte has been a player that the club have been considering and are reportedly in advanced talks.
