Punjab's Preparedness Against Attacks

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann of Punjab addressed the recent drone attacks from Pakistan, asserting that the state was well-prepared for such incidents. He emphasized that Punjab has historically taken a stand in conflicts and will continue to lead in this situation. Following the drone strike in Firozpur, which injured three individuals, the affected victims have been admitted to the hospital, and Minister Cheema has visited the site. Mann plans to tour the areas where missiles were discovered and reassured the public not to panic or hoard supplies.


Reports of Explosions in Punjab

This morning, sounds resembling explosions were reported in the districts of Pathankot and Jalandhar amid military tensions between India and Pakistan. Sirens were also activated in Hoshiarpur, Amritsar, and Firozpur, according to officials. In Sirsa, Haryana, some locals claimed to have heard similar explosive noises after midnight. In Kangniwal village of Jalandhar district, an unidentified missile reportedly fell in a residential area, injuring a migrant worker and damaging several homes. Residents noted that debris from the unidentified object was scattered in the vicinity.


Local Accounts of the Incident

A local woman recounted, "I was standing by the window when something struck our water tank around 1:30 AM, shattering the glass of four to five houses." She mentioned that a migrant worker sustained injuries and was taken to the hospital. Another resident, Satinder Kumar, reported, "Our water tank was damaged, and many windows were broken. The area was filled with smoke."
