Liverpool's Darwin Nunez is reportedly on the radar of European heavyweights Napoli and Atletico Madrid, as rumours swirl about a potential departure from Anfield. Despite contributing to Liverpool's Premier League triumph, Nunez has found it challenging to secure a regular place in Arne Slot's squad.
The 25 year old Uruguayan forward made a record-breaking move from Benfica to Liverpool in 2022 for approximately £85 million. Although he has netted 40 goals in 140 appearances, his performance hasn't quite justified the hefty transfer fee.
Under Slot's management, Nunez has only been in the starting line-up eight times in league matches, playing second fiddle to Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota.
Italian publication Corriere dello Sport suggests that Napoli are considering a bid for Nunez, with club president Aurelien De Laurentiis keen to bolster their attacking options for manager Antonio Conte's Serie A title pursuit.
Despite having Romelu Lukaku in their ranks, Napoli see Nunez as a valuable addition to ensure they build on their successful season. Other targets for Napoli include Lille's Jonathan David, FC Porto's Samuel Omorodion, and PSG's Lee Kang-In.

However, Napoli aren't the only ones eyeing Nunez this summer. Atletico Madrid, under Diego Simeone's management, are also reportedly interested in bolstering their attacking options, which currently include Julian Alvarez, Antoine Griezmann and Alexander Sorloth.
Goal suggests that Argentinian club River Plate and a team from the Saudi Pro League could also be potential destinations for Nunez. If he were to join Napoli, he might find himself playing alongside Manchester City's Kevin de Bruyne, who is on the Italian's radar.
The 33 year old Belgian's contract with City expires at season's end, and with no new deal on the table, he is expected to attract interest from top clubs.
Sky Sports reports that Napoli's sporting director Giovanni Manna has recently been in Manchester to discuss the club's plans with De Bruyne, who is said to be open to the idea of joining them.
