He also suggested that Shubman Gill could serve as the deputy for the series. Following Rohit Sharmas recent retirement from the longest format earlier this week India now face the task of appointing a new Test leader for the upcoming tour. The BCCI has urged him to rethink as the crucial England tour is coming up. He is yet to revert on the request sources told the Indian Express newspaper. Virat Kohlis move follows closely after Rohit Sharma announced his retirement from Test cricket earlier this week. The Indian selection committee is expected to convene soon to finalize the squad for the upcoming five-match Test series in England scheduled for next month.
