
New Delhi: Meta’s instant messaging app WhatsApp has suspended 67 lakh accounts in India. Please tell that WhatsApp did this action in January 2024 and action was taken under IT Rules 2021. Also, WhatsApp suspended 6,728,000 account ban from 1 January to 31 January 2024. Of these, 1,358,000 people were blocked before receiving the complaint, and WhatsApp has given this information in its monthly compliance report.
Complaints received against 14,828 account
There are about 56 crore users of WhatsApp in India. In January, WhatsApp received complaints against 14,828 accounts. Actually whatsapp publishes this report every month. 69 thousand accounts were blocked in India in December 2023, And let us tell you that WhatsApp account has been blocked due to privacy and policy. If objectionable messages are sent to people from an account or spam messages are sent, then that account can be blocked.
