Hyderabad: G. Satheesh Reddy, the former chairman of the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO), said on Sunday that Operation Sindoor showed the nation’s increasing defense technology independence and that the war also showed India’s prowess in Atmanirbhar-based warfare and indigenous technology.

The many Pakistani drones were mostly thwarted by DRDO and industry-developed anti-drone devices. The deployment of these devices effectively eliminated the drone danger.
“A lot of indigenous-based technologies were used in this war, and this war was an Atmanirbhar-based warfare,” Reddy told the ANI. Due to the massive influx of drones, the anti-drone technologies that were created by the DRDO and industry were employed with great success.
“India’s strategic autonomy is improved by the greater emphasis on domestic research and production, which lessens its reliance on foreign military technology. It turned out that the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile was a dependable, accurate, and efficient weapon. A very effective, precise, and dependable weapon, the Brahmos missile was used by the military, which was well-trained in its deployment and contributed significantly to the fight. During the research stage and then during the testing, the military received extensive training on this,” he said.
He said that India’s dedication to strengthening its military capabilities is shown by the opening of a BrahMos missile manufacturing plant in Lucknow that can produce 100–150 missiles a year. “Its role was very important and therefore I think today Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has inaugurated a facility in Lucknow to produce 100-150 missiles of Brahmos every year…,” Reddy said.
BrahMos supersonic cruise missiles will be produced at the plant, which was established as part of the Defence Industrial Corridor program. This will increase India’s defense capabilities and lessen its reliance on imports.
Air Marshal AK Bharti, meanwhile, said on Sunday that Operation Sindoor had precisely met its goals and had successfully eliminated terror facilities. He emphasized that the world can see the effect of the activities.
“Have we achieved our objectives of decimating the terrorist camps?” Air Marshal Bharti said at a news conference. “The answer is a thumping.” Yes, and the outcomes are visible to everyone on the planet. Operation Sindoor, according to Air Marshal Bharti on Sunday, aims to attack certain targets precisely, “not to count the body bags.”
“Our selected strategies and tactics had the intended impact on the adversary’s objectives. What is the number of casualties? How many people suffered injuries? Even though we didn’t intend to cause casualties, we should count those who did. He said, “It is our responsibility to hit the target, not to count the body bags.” The Indian Armed Forces carried out Operation Sindoor effectively, accomplishing all of the chosen goals, and all Indian pilots returned safely, according to Air Marshal Bharti. “All I can say is that we have achieved the objectives that we selected and all our pilots are back home,” he said.
The Indian Air Force has shot down many Pakistani aircraft while keeping hostile aircraft from entering Indian airspace, according to Air Marshal Bharti. “We stopped their aircraft from crossing our border. Indeed, we have brought down a few aircraft. There are undoubtedly losses on their end that we caused,” he said.
Early on May 7, the Indian Armed Forces began Operation Sindoor, which was aimed against nine terrorist infrastructure locations in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoK). The April 22 terror assault in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed the lives of 26 people, including one Nepali person, prompted this operation as a retaliatory retaliation.
