Strategic expansion enhances Air Canada's Latin America and Caribbean network
Air Canada is set to significantly bolster its presence in Latin America and the Caribbean with the launch of 13 new routes and the addition of four new destinations for the Winter 2025–26 season. This strategic move marks the airline's most extensive seasonal network expansion, increasing regional seat capacity by 16% and offering over 80,000 weekly seats across more than 55 daily flights.#Operation Sindoor

"Air Canada is delivering on its New Frontiers strategy with the expansion of its Latin America presence this winter," said Mark Galardo, Executive Vice President & Chief Commercial Officer, and President, Cargo at Air Canada. "We are excited to be adding Rio de Janeiro, Cartagena, Guatemala City, and Guadalajara to our global network, and increasing service to Santiago with new flights from Montreal."
New routes strengthen connectivity from Canadian hubs
The expansion includes notable new services such as three weekly flights from Toronto to Rio de Janeiro, operating from December 4, 2025, to March 2026, and a tri-weekly service between Montreal and Santiago, running from December 16, 2025, to February 2026. Additionally, Air Canada is adding Cartagena to its network, offering flights from both Toronto and Montreal.In Central America and Mexico, new services from Montreal to Guatemala City and from Toronto to Guadalajara are being introduced, catering to both leisure travelers and the visiting friends and relatives (VFR) segment. Vancouver will also gain a new weekly service to Huatulco, a popular resort destination on the Pacific Coast.
"Our Latin America winter schedule has been built to serve both Canadian and global Sixth Freedom connecting travelers, as well as capitalize on growing cargo opportunities," added Galardo.
Enhanced services from regional Canadian cities
Air Canada's winter expansion also includes new Caribbean routes from Ottawa, Halifax, and Quebec City, further enhancing the airline's connectivity to these sought-after destinations. Services from Quebec City to Fort-de-France, and from Ottawa to Nassau and Montego Bay, are among the new additions. In addition to these new routes, Air Canada is increasing capacity on several of its existing services. This includes additional flights from Toronto to Nassau, Montego Bay, and St. Maarten, as well as enhanced frequency between Montreal and Punta Cana, and Montreal and St. Maarten.
