Amit Sadh's foray into acting was sparked by a challenge, showcasing his resilient spirit that has solidified his status in the entertainment realm. Over the past 23 years, he has explored various formats, including television dramas, reality shows, films, and OTT platforms. His impressive portfolio features notable works such as Sultan, Gold, and Breathe.
Excited about his latest project, Pune Highway, Amit describes it as a murder mystery intertwined with themes of friendship. Set to premiere later this month, he elaborates on his character, stating, 'Khandu is an ordinary individual with good intentions, yet he harbors ambitions.' This film also marks the directorial debut of seasoned theatre artist Rahul DaCunha, with Bugs Bhargava Krishna also contributing to the direction.
Collaboration and Theatre Influence
When asked about collaborating with two directors, Amit shares, 'Honestly, it never felt like there were two directors. They were perfectly aligned. From the outset, we understood our roles and expectations!' The film's cast includes several theatre veterans, such as Jim Sarbh and Rajit Kapoor. Although Amit has limited stage experience, he expresses his admiration for theatre, stating, 'I enjoy watching plays, but my acting journey has primarily been on screen.'
Exploring Friendship in Pune Highway
In Pune Highway, Amit encounters a compelling storyline that delves into the delicate nature of friendships when faced with unexpected challenges. He reflects, 'Taking on this role has been one of the most fulfilling and demanding experiences of my career. It resonates with anyone who cherishes friendship.'
While he refrains from naming specific friends, the Kai Po Che! star emphasizes the significance of friendship in his life, saying, 'I feel fortunate to have friends across the globe!'
Amit's Perspective on Life and Career
For Amit, life is not merely a series of ups and downs. 'I am still striving for my peak. I've accomplished remarkable projects, and I'm eager for more!' He views challenges as opportunities for growth, stating, 'What might seem like a setback to others is, for me, a step forward. From humble beginnings, I've established myself in this industry, collaborating with talented individuals and producing quality work!'
Passions Beyond Acting
Outside of acting, Amit enjoys reading and traveling, often juggling multiple books at once. He highlights two transformative reads: 'Tuesdays with Morrie' by Mitch Albom and 'Stories of Your Life and Others' by Ted Chiang, both of which he highly recommends.
Another passion of his is motorcycling, which inspired a documentary titled 'Motorcycles Saved My Life,' produced under his banner, Gully Gladiators, set to release in 2024.
Looking Ahead
Amit is also set to appear in another film, Main, where he portrays an encounter specialist. However, his current focus is on Pune Highway, which he describes as a mix of suspense and emotional resonance with a universal theme. 'It's crucial for this film to succeed so we can continue creating such projects!'
