
Temperatures over 40 degrees Celsius have been reported in 144 sites in Andhra Pradesh (AP), which is now seeing a startling surge in heatwave severity. It is anticipated that the scenario would continue for two to three more days.
Residents in the Rayalaseema districts are at risk of scattered light to moderate rains with thundershowers, according to the AP Disaster Management Agency. Light rainfall is also possible in other places.
The current northern and southern troughs have lessened in neighboring Telangana, although mild to moderate rainfall is expected over the next three days. Even with these chances of rain, Telangana and AP are expected to have an increase in heat, with daily highs of 36 to 40 degrees. In the nights, there is still a chance of thunder and lightning along with light to moderate rain.
According to experts from the Meteorological Department, the southwest monsoon is predicted to arrive on the Kerala coast on May 27. They also predict that the area may have more rainfall this year than usual because of the effect of the monsoon.
