Industry body Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) on Tuesday announced the appointment of Billdesk cofounder MN Srinivasu as its chairman for the next two years.
Srinivasu replaces Harsh Jain, cofounder and chief executive of Dream Sports, who assumed the post in May 2023. Before Jain, Sanjay Gupta, vice president and country manager of Google, had held the office.
Harshil Mathur, CEO and cofounder of Razorpay, and Sameer Nigam, CEO of PhonePe, have been elected vice chairman and treasurer of the body, respectively. Srinivasu, Mathur and Nigam will form the association's executive council.
IAMAI is a not-for-profit industry body with more than 600 members, including Indian and multinational corporations, as well as startups.
The 2023 elections sank into a controversy after some members accused the council of supporting Big Tech companies at the expense of local internet startups and organisations.
