BC Bhartia, national president of CAIT, has also sought an investigation into how these products were listed on the ecommerce websites and permitted to be sold in India.

The Conference of All India Traders (CAIT) on Tuesday wrote to commerce minister Piyush Goyal calling for a ban on the sale of Pakistani flags, logos, and all related merchandise on ecommerce platforms in the wake of the ongoing geopolitical tensions between the two nations.

“It has come to light that Pakistani flags, logo-bearing mugs, and T-shirts are being openly sold on major e-commerce platforms such as Amazon and Flipkart. This disturbing situation unfolds even as our valiant armed forces are actively engaged in Operation Sindoor - a mission of critical national importance against Pakistan,” BC Bhartia, national president of CAIT, wrote in the letter to Goyal.

The letter names major ecommerce companies Amazon and Flipkart, where Pakistani flags and related merchandise are being sold.

Besides calling for an “immediate ban” on such items, Bhartia has also sought a thorough investigation into how these products were listed on the ecommerce websites and permitted for sale, as well as implementation of strict compliance mechanisms.

“Issuance of clear directives to all ecommerce platforms to prohibit sale of any products that may compromise national security or insult public sentiment,” the letter added.
