First meeting of Hanuman ji and Lord Shri Ram
According to the Ramayana, when Lord Rama was in search of Mother Sita, she first met Hanuman ji. Hanuman ji took the form of a priest to know the truth of Rama and Lakshmana. When he came to know about the truth of Rama and Lakshmana, he bowed to Lord Rama. This important event took place on Tuesday of Jyeshtha month, hence it is called Bada or old age Tuesday.
Story of breaking Bhima’s pride
There is also a story to Tuesday in Mahabharata. Bhima was proud of his power, but Hanuman ji decided to break his pride. One day, whenever Bhima was passing through a dense forest, he asked an old monkey to remove his tail. Hanuman ji smiled and said that Bhima should remove his tail himself. Whenever Bhima could not do this, he realized that he was in front of a divine avatar. Due to this incident, it was called old age Tuesday.
Hanuman ji’s tail
In another story, when Hanuman ji went to Lanka with the message of Lord Rama, Ravana came into the ego and set his tail on fire. After this, Hanuman ji set fire to Lanka, breaking the pride of Ravana. This incident also took place on Tuesday of Jyeshtha month, hence it is called Bada Tuesday.
Blessing of immortality
According to another legend, Hanuman ji got a boon of immortality on Tuesday of Jyeshtha month. Hanuman ji became immortal due to this boon. Therefore, this day is also considered a big Tuesday.
