A 26-year-old woman from Bonacaud, Vithura in Kerala’s Thiruvananthapuram district has been found murdered in Dubai. The local police have arrested her male acquaintance while he attempted to flee to India in connection with the crime.

Suspect Helped Animol Relocate To UAE

The victim, identified as Animol Gilda, had been residing and working in the UAE for over 18 months, employed at a private credit sales company, as per a report on Mathrubhumi. The incident reportedly occurred in the Al Karama area earlier this month. Authorities confirmed that the suspect was taken into custody at Dubai International Airport as he attempted to board a flight to India.

The man, also a native of Thiruvananthapuram, is employed at a hospital in Abu Dhabi. According to preliminary investigation, the two had become acquainted through social media and had maintained a close relationship. The accused is said to have assisted Animol in relocating to the UAE and had shifted to Dubai following her move, as reported by Times of India.

While no official details about the motive or circumstances of the murder have been released, investigators suspect personal issues between the two may have escalated. Friends of the victim indicated that the pair had been living together and had experienced relationship conflicts prior to the incident.

Animol’s family background reveals that her parents are separated long time back, and she is said to be raised by her grandparents in Bonacaud. Her sister, Anumol Guilda, who is married, is currently settled with her husband's family in Kottayam.

The social workers involved in the case have confirmed that preparations are underway to repatriate the victim’s body to Kerala. Authorities have classified the case as a murder, and further investigations are ongoing.
