CBSE Important Notice: Post-Result, CBSE Launches Tele-Counselling to Support Students' Mental Health

After announcing the results for the academic year 2025, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has taken a significant step to support students' well-being. To address post-result stress and anxiety among students, the board has launched a free tele-counselling service, available to students across India and abroad.

What is CBSE Tele-Counselling?

The tele-counselling service is available from May 13 to May 28, 2025, every day between 8:00 AM and 10:00 PM. Students can call the toll-free number 1800-11-8004 to receive expert guidance on mental health, emotional support, and career-related queries.

Through this initiative, students can speak directly with trained counsellors and school principals, who are available not just within India but also in countries like Nepal, Japan, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Kuwait.

Why This Initiative Matters

CBSE recognizes the psychological pressure many students face after receiving their board exam results. This initiative aims to reduce that stress and provide students with practical advice and emotional support, helping them to better cope with the outcomes and plan their future.

This free-of-cost service ensures that every student, regardless of their location or background, has access to qualified professionals who can guide them through a potentially overwhelming period.

More Resources Online

In addition to phone counselling, students can also visit CBSE’s official website cbse.gov.in to access:

  • Podcasts and videos on stress management,

  • Tips for effective study planning, and

  • Resources to improve mental health and academic focus.

These resources are available for download and on-demand viewing.

A Long-Standing Support System

CBSE’s tele-counselling initiative is not new — it was first introduced in 1998 and has been running successfully ever since. Over the years, it has become a vital support system for lakhs of students navigating exam-related anxiety and planning their academic future.
