The first Indian celebrity to openly advocate for a boycott of Turkey is television personality Rupali Ganguly, who is advising other celebrities, influencers, and tourists to cancel their trip plans to the nation.

As tensions between India and Pakistan continue to rise, the Anupamaa actress made a powerful plea on social media, saying that this is the least we Indians can do. “Could we please cancel our bookings for Turkey?” Rupali tweeted on her X account. I’m making this request to all Indian travelers, influencers, and celebrities. As Indians, this is the very least we can do. Boycott Turkey.

Her message immediately generated considerable discussion, with many people praising her for making such a daring statement. On Ganguly’s post, a user left the following comment: “Definitely! Indigo and all other Indian airlines should immediately halt flights to Turkey if we really want to fight against terrorism. We cannot allow individuals who advocate assaults on our military to be financed with our hard-earned money. Let’s be quite clear about #BoycottTurkey. “Done, cancelled my family trip,” remarked another.

during Turkey’s support for Pakistan during India’s Operation Sindoor, television star Kushal Tandon’s parents expressed their support on May 9 for the escalating boycott demands. Despite the financial loss resulting from non-refundable reservations, his mother, Sandhya Tandon, chose to postpone her scheduled vacation to Turkey with friends.

“My mom and her friends were planning to go next month, but now they have cancelled their entire trip, even with no refunds getting back from the hotels and airlines,” the actor posted on Instagram. Never forget to do your tasks.

In comments released on May 8, Turkey and Azerbaijan condemned India’s airstrikes on terror sites and reaffirmed their support for Pakistan. While Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry offered condolences to the families allegedly impacted by the attacks, Turkey’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs called the operation a “provocative step.” The remarks sparked harsh condemnation on Indian social networking sites, escalating public ire and igniting a burgeoning boycott movement against Turkey.
