Following India’s Operation Sindoor, an IPL match in Dharamshala was recently canceled due to a security risk. When the Punjab Kings vs. Delhi Capitals IPL 2025 match was abruptly halted last week, Preity Zinta, the team’s co-owner, was seen stepping in with cool haste. Now, the actress has turned to X to share her feelings about that period.

What was going through your thoughts when you assisted the IPL chairman in evacuating the Dharamshala stadium? a fan questioned Preity Zinta on X. “How did you feel?” Check out this powerful response from the actress:

“There was never any doubt regarding everyone’s safety because I trust our armed forces and our government completely,” wrote Preity Zinta. Because the stadium was crowded, we wanted to ensure that everyone left safely; thus, it was crucial that we stayed behind to prevent fear from those who could be watching us depart. I was happy that things proceeded well once the players were dispatched and people started to leave.

Following the suspension of the IPL match, videos of the actress assisting the authorities in evacuating IPL spectators quickly went viral on social media. Due to an evolving national security situation, the game, which was being played at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamshala, was called off in the middle of play. The suspension followed an instant Indian military response to Pakistan’s effort to breach Indian airspace with a drone intrusion close to Chandigarh. As officials quickly put evacuation procedures into place, the game, which had progressed to 10.1 overs, was stopped.

Preity Zinta wrote a lengthy Instagram post later that week to express gratitude to authorities for making sure they left Dharamshala safely. “Finally back home after a crazy last few days,” said Preity, further noting, “A heartfelt thank you to Indian Railways & our Railway minister Mr Ashwini Vaishnaw for helping both IPL teams and all officials & families leave Dharamshala in a safe, swift & comfortable way (sic).”

She went on to congratulate the BCCI and IPL officials for managing the matter in a civilized way. She praised the residents of Dharamshala for leaving the stadium without losing their cool. Additionally, Preity apologized to her followers for not complying with their demands for photos.
