In order to address the impending flood season, the Uttar Pradesh administration has stepped up preparations, making sure that all essential measures in regions that have been recognized as being at risk of flooding are completed on time. As directed by Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh, impacted people will get weekly relief packages, a sufficient amount of food, shelter, and medical assistance.
In order to evacuate inhabitants to safer areas, all District Magistrates have been directed to identify areas that are at risk and set up shelters. In addition to breakfast, these shelters will provide three meals a day. In flood-affected communities, plans are also being made for excellent drainage systems, medical facilities, and clean drinking water in order to successfully handle calamities.
During floods, boats will be made available to transport people, and boat operators will get payment within 24 hours of providing their services. With planned pre-flood vaccination efforts, the state administration is also putting an emphasis on animal safety.
The government will provide weekly complete relief packages to assist individuals living outside of recognized shelters. Essential foods including lye, roasted gram, sugar, biscuits, rice, flour, potatoes, tur dal, turmeric, chili powder, vegetable masala, mustard oil, and salt will be included in these packages.
Additionally, non-food necessities will be provided, such as tarpaulin sheets, buckets with lids, candles, matchboxes, soaps, sanitary pads, towels, cotton fabric, disposable bags, mugs, and antiseptic remedies like Dettol or Savlon. To protect the safety and wellbeing of those impacted by flooding, the state government has placed a strong focus on the prompt implementation of these measures.
