
During the Asian Junior Women Equipped and Classic Powerlifting Championships and the Asian University Powerlifting Cup, which took place in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India, from May 5–12, 2025, KL Deemed to be University (KLEF) was pleased to honor the exceptional accomplishments of its students. Three KLEF student-athletes brought great pride to the institution and the country by winning several gold medals in a variety of categories on an international level while showcasing extraordinary strength, tenacity, and discipline.
On May 10, 2025, Shaik Shabeena, a BBA student competing for India in the 84kg division, produced a strong performance in the Asian Junior Women Equipped Powerlifting Championship 2025. She won the Overall Gold Medal after winning four gold medals in the following events: Squat (190 kg), Bench Press (85 kg), Deadlift (180 kg), and the total of 455 kg. She demonstrated her ability and consistency by winning four more gold medals in the +84kg Junior Women’s division at the Junior Asian University Equipped Powerlifting Cup 2025, which took place on May 11, 2025.
In addition to these accomplishments, on May 11, 2025, BCA student Nagam Gnana Divya had a strong performance in the Asia University Classic Powerlifting Championship 2025. She won gold in the squat (172.5 kg), bench press (62.5 kg), and deadlift (150 kg) events while competing in the +84 kg division. Her final weight of 385 kg earned her the Overall Gold Medal.
On May 11, 2025, Shanoon Madira, a BA-IAS student, won the Gold Medal in the 47kg division in the Junior Asian Universities Classic Powerlifting Championship, further elevating KLEF University’s stellar attendance at the competition. Her triumph demonstrated superior power and skill.
“We are proud of our students’ accomplishments on the international stage,” remarked Er. These triumphs demonstrate KLEF’s steadfast dedication to holistic growth, whereby academic brilliance is skillfully combined with ambition, discipline, and physical prowess.
