Costly Ad-Free Access
The modified structure permits members who wish to view Prime Video without interruptions to be charged an additional 699 per year or 129 on a month to month basis. This is being dubbed an “ad-free tax” by many as it increases the total price of an Amazon Prime subscription.
Change in Pricing or Add-On Options for Existing Plan
As listed below, these are the changes made to the pricing:
Annual Prime Membership: Rs 1,499
Ad-Free Prime Video Add-On: Rs 699/year or Rs 129/month
Total Annual Cost for Ad-Free Experience: Rs 2,198
Monthly Equivalent: Approx. Rs 498 per month
