Veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty's son Namashi called Bollywood 'fake' and slammed filmmakers for not giving chance to outsiders. In one of his latest interviews, Namashi also called out favoritism in the Hindi film industry.
During a conversation with Who’s On Air with Kamlksh Shetty, Namashi said his father is not like other Bollywood celebrities. "Bollywood people are very fake; my father is a great exception," he said.
Calling Mithun "down-to-earth, humble, and honest," Namashiadded, "When his career was declining in the mid-1990s, he did close to 100 low-budget action films in Ooty. He was called a B-grade actor. He made his own industry, but the media never supported that; they have their favourites."
Opening up about the insider vs. outsider debate, the actor said, "Bollywood has forgotten to give work to outsiders. Today, it’s all about who you know... your background, your surname, and your connections."
