Like Halle Berry, stars who stole the show in monochrome outfits at Cannes

The Cannes Film Festival is being held in Cannes, France, from May 13-24, 2025. The festival that is organised annually at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès, showcases new films across the globe and fosters a unified cinematic community by helping filmmakers, artists, and professionals gain recognition. In the first two days of the festival, various celebrities have stunned in designer ensembles. However, leading the red carpet was Halle Berry, who adapted the festival's new dress code by adorning a monochromatic black and white outfit with elegance and flair. Halle Berry, who is on the jury which will be deciding which film wins the Palme d'Or top prize, was supposed to attend the opening ceremony of the Cannes Film Festival in a Gaurav Gupta design, but at the last minute the actress had to opt for a different outfit as the one by the Indian designer had a train. The Oscar winner appeared on the red carpet in a black and white monochromatic gown from Jacquemus. However, the most unique aspect of her attire was at the back- a bustle detail that the actress flaunted in style.

Alessandra Ambrosio


Brazilian model Alessandra Ambrosio shined on the red carpet ahead of the Partir Un Jour screening in a stunning monochrome green floor-length gown with fluffy sleeves and a long train. The beautiful piece was a Zuhair Murad custom gown that she elevated with high jewellery from Pomellato.

Heidi Klum
Personifying spring at the red carpet was model Heidi Klum, who wore a larger-than-life pink floral gown from Elie Saab that broke one too many rules of the festival with a long train, a strapless bust and a leg-baring side. She added a bit of glitz to the monochrome outfit with some Lorraine Schwartz jewellery.

Wan Qian Hui
Another daring monochromatic appearance at the red carpet was by the Chinese actress Wan QianHui who wore a massive white dress with a train which was a couture piece by Chinese designer Wang Feng.

Farhana Bodi


A surprising yet welcomed monochromatic look on the red carpet came from Indian-origin millionaire Farhana Bodi, who appeared on Netflix's show 'Dubai Bling.' The model channelled her inner Barbie in a custom blush pink gown with dramatic ruffles by Atelier Zuhra, a Dubai-based boutique.
