
Only two games remain of the current Premier League season with Arsenal looking good for Champions League qualification but will need to avoid a defeat to Newcastle and beat Southampton on the final day to secure second spot. The Gunners have reached two semi-finals this season but fallen short of their goals of silverware.
With the end of a campaign comes the opening of a transfer window and Arsenal have already been busy. The appointment of Andrea Berta as the replacement for Edu Gaspar for the new sporting director position has not had any lag time whatsoever.
Plans that had been made have been assessed and, in some cases, changed, while talks are already underway over potential candidates such as Martin Zubimendi, who the club is confident will arrive this summer. Mikel Arteta does not want to be left short again, as he openly admitted he was at the start of the season and after the failure to sign any players in the January transfer window.
