How to Play NYT Connections

In NYT Connections, players receive a grid filled with words and must uncover the hidden connections among them. Consider synonyms, antonyms, and related word families to solve the puzzle. If you encounter difficulties, the game provides helpful hints.

You can track your daily progress and challenge friends to see who can solve the most puzzles. A new puzzle is released every day at midnight, available on the NYT website or app. Your objective is to organize 16 words into four groups of four based on their connections, which can include various themes.

Each group is color-coded, with yellow typically being the easiest, while blue and green present moderate challenges, and purple often involves wordplay. Select four words you believe belong together and click ‘Submit’. If you guess incorrectly, you lose a life. However, if you're close to forming a correct group, you may receive a hint indicating you're just one word away from success. Be cautious, as making four mistakes results in game over.
