Reward Announcement Following Pahalgam Attack

In the wake of the tragic terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22, posters have surfaced throughout the Kashmir Valley, offering a reward of Rs 20 lakh for credible leads that could lead to the capture of the terrorists responsible. This initiative includes a promise of complete anonymity for those who provide information, highlighting the commitment of security forces to dismantle the network behind the attack.

Investigations Reveal Pakistani Connections

Recent investigations into the Pahalgam incident have uncovered significant links to Pakistan. One of the main suspects, Hashim Musa, is identified as a former member of the Pakistan Army's Para Forces. Reports suggest that Musa, along with another Pakistani terrorist named Ali Bhai and two local accomplices, Adil Thoker and Asif Shaikh, played direct roles in the attack. Interrogations of Over Ground Workers (OGWs) indicate that more Pakistani terrorists may be involved.

Hashim Musa's Background and Activities

Hashim Musa, described as a highly dangerous individual, reportedly joined the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) after his dismissal from the Pakistan Army. He is believed to have entered Kashmir in September 2023 and has been active primarily in forested areas near Srinagar. Security sources suspect that Musa's recruitment into LeT was facilitated by the Pakistan Army's Special Service Group (SSG) to enhance the terror group's operations in the region.

Musa's Skills and Training

A senior security official in Kashmir noted, "Musa is a trained para commando with skills in unconventional warfare and covert operations. He is proficient in handling advanced weaponry, hand-to-hand combat, navigation, and survival tactics."

Emerging Evidence of Military Involvement

Details regarding Musa's SSG background emerged during the questioning of 14 Kashmiri OGWs suspected of aiding the terrorists by providing logistical support and conducting reconnaissance. Security sources have indicated that the involvement of the Pakistan Army and ISI is becoming increasingly apparent, drawing comparisons to the October 2024 attacks in Sonmarg and Bothapathri Gulmarg, which resulted in the deaths of six non-locals, including a doctor and two Indian Army personnel. Musa is believed to have participated in three significant attacks throughout 2024.
