CSK CEO Reveals Status Of All Overseas Players: Chennai Super Kings CEO Kasi Viswanathan has given a massive update on the status of overseas players in the team for the remainder of IPL 2025. The news is a good one for CSK fans.
The Super Kings are not having the best season of the Indian Premier League so far. The team that has made it to the playoffs 12 out of the 15 times so far will finish out of the top four for a second year in a row now. This will be happening for the first time in franchise history.
CSK CEO Reveals Status Of All Overseas Players
The first team to fall out of the race to the playoffs, the Super Kings are currently at the bottom of the table in the IPL with three wins, six points, and a very poor net run rate in 12 matches. This table stands at the time of the league’s 10-day suspension.
Amid the recent conflict between the Indian and Pakistani military forces, several overseas players either left the country or were planning to do so before the news of the league’s resumption on May 17.
For the CSK, the news about the overseas players is better than for many other teams. The team’s CEO has put out a statement, saying that every overseas player, barring English pacer Jamie Overton, will return to the squad to complete the rest of the season.
All CSK foreign players barring Jamie Overton are expected to join the squad ahead of IPL resumption,” said Kasi Viswanathan.
This leaves the Chennai-based franchise with seven foreign players, those being Rachin Ravindra, Devon Conway, Sam Curran, Dewald Brevis, Nathan Ellis, Noor Ahmad, and Matheesha Pathirana.
Here is the CSK squad for the remainder of IPL 2025:
Ms Dhoni (WK) (WK), Ayush Mhatre, Rachin Ravindra, Shaik Rasheed, Rahul Tripathi, Devon Conway (WK), Dewald Breis, UrV Patel (WK), Shivam Dube, Ravindra Jadeja, Deepak Hooda, Deepak Hooda Curran, Andre Siddarth, Vijay Shankar, Ravichandran Ashwin, Anshul Kamboj, Ramakrishna Ghosh, Shreyas Gopal, Noor Ahmad, Matheesha Pathirana, Khaleel Ahmed, Nathan Ellis, Mukesh Choudhary, Kamlesh Nagarkoti
The CSK have only two matches remaining in this season of the IPL. First, they will face the Rajasthan Royals at Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium in Match 62 of the league on Tuesday, May 20. And then, in their last game of the competition, the five-time champions will face the Gujarat Titans on Sunday, May 25, in Match 67 in Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium.
