New Delhi: In the face of increased tensions with India after the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, Congress leaders Pawan Khera and Jairam Ramesh criticized BJP leader Amit Malviya and questioned the ruling party’s justification for its trade and diplomatic relations with countries that have backed Pakistan.

Following the terror incident in Pahalgam, BJP leader Amit Malviya uploaded a video of Ramesh and Khera together and accused the party of being “disconnected” and “misaligned” with popular mood. This prompted the Congress leaders to respond.

The Congress deserved “political oblivion and complete isolation,” according to Malviya, the head of the BJP’s National Information and Technology Department.

Malviya said, X: “The nation is furious over the help that Azerbaijan and Turkey have given to Pakistan, a terrorist state. Private persons have voiced their sympathy with the rising push to boycott travel and commerce with certain nations. However, the Congress party finds it impossible to even reconcile with the sentiments of the Indian populace as a whole. It is understandable why it is still so cut off from the general population. It is deserving of its total isolation and political obscurity.

In a scathing retort, Pawan Khera wrote on X, “Since a BJP office bearer is bringing up this issue, PMO India and S. Jaishankar ought to promptly clarify whether the Indian government has severed all diplomatic and commercial ties with Turkey and closed its embassy in India. The government, not the opposition, must decide whether or not to establish ties with any nation. @MEA India, please elaborate.”

Jairam Ramesh made a post on X as “In thee vein, @PMOIndia and @DrSJaishankar should also clarify why the Modi Government has pursued normalization with China despite its continued encroachment on Indian territory – or indeed why the PM lied to the people of India and irrevocably hurt national interests on June 19th, 2020, by giving China a public clean chit for its encroachments.”
Pawan Khera had earlier on Monday said that the government needs to call a special session of Parliament to review the Pahalgam terror assault, Operation Sindoor, and the ensuing agreement with Pakistan on halting military action and fire.

“A lot of questions exist. Without question, Pakistan has learned a valuable lesson from the valiant actions of the Indian Armed Forces. It is only possible to ask questions of the government when a special session of Parliament is summoned. Khera told the media outlet, “I believe the entire world should see how professional the Indian Army is, and everyone saluted their spirit.”

Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha, and Mallikarjun Kharge, the president of the Congress, both wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi requesting that a special session of Parliament be called.

In his remarks, Rahul Gandhi restated the opposition’s “unanimous request” to call a special session of Parliament “immediately.”

“The Pahalgam terror incident, Operation Sindoor, and the truce that U.S. President Trump first offered must be discussed by the populace and their politicians. We will also get a chance to show that we are all committed to overcoming the obstacles that lie ahead. Rahul Gandhi said, “I hope you will give this request careful thought and act quickly.

Following a terror assault in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, last month, Operation Sindoor was initiated on May 7 to target many terror targets in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir.
