New Delhi [India] According to ESPNcricinfo, England’s Liam Livingstone and West Indies all-rounder Romario Shepherd returned to India and joined the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) team earlier on Wednesday.

In response to the cross-border tensions between India and Pakistan, the BCCI postponed the lucrative tournament for a week on May 8. The IPL will return on May 17 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru when Royal Challengers Bengaluru play the reigning champions, Kolkata Knight Riders, after the conclusion of hostilities.

Shepherd was joined by Dwayne Bravo, the coach of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Andre Russell, and Sunil Narine, his countrymen. Additionally, Shepherd is a member of the West Indies ODI team for their next trip of England, which begins on May 29. The series’ timetable conflicts with the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 playoffs.

Regarding Shepherd’s involvement in the league beyond May 29, Cricket West Indies has not yet provided any clarity. While Jacob Bethell has already returned to the club, Liam Livingstone of England has also joined RCB.

Livingstone has been left out of both the ODI and T20I teams, whereas Bethell has been selected for England’s next home white ball series against the Caribbean team.

All of their players competing in the IPL were given no-objection certificates (NOCs) by the England Cricket Board (ECB) until May 25, which was the original date of the IPL 2025 final. According to ESPNcricinfo, Bethell was thus left off of England’s roster for the four-day Test match against Zimbabwe that begins on May 29.

The return of RCB fast bowlers Josh Hazlewood and Lungi Ngidi to the IPL is still uncertain. Additionally, Ngidi is a member of the test team for the June World Test Championship (WTC) final matchup against Australia. With 16 points, eight victories, and three losses, RCB is now ranked second.
