Two -time Olympic medalist and current world champion Neeraj Chopra was questioned about his friendship with Arshad Nadeem on the eve of the Diamond League. To this, Chopra gave a clear reply that he never had any special friendship with Nadeem. Remember that Arshad Nadeem won a gold medal at the Paris Olympics last year. Neeraj Chopra won a gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021.

Chopra made it clear in the press conference that he never had a close relationship with Arshad Nadeem. He said that due to the recent Indo-Pak border tension, it is no longer possible with them.

He also said that if someone talks to him with respect, they will also answer with respect. Chopra further said that he has to talk as a player. He has many friends around the world who are not only limited to javelin throw but also associated with other sports.

Honesty was saddened by question

Haryana star spear throw player Neeraj Chopra said that the javelin throw community is very small. All the players compete for their country with hard work and dedication. He said that when he invited Arshad Nadeem to participate in the tournament organized in his honor, he and his family faced derogatory comments on social media, which raised questions on his honesty.

Chopra also clarified that the invitation was sent just a day before the Pahalgam terror attack, in which 26 people lost their lives.
