Volodymyr Zelensky has questioned Russia's seriousness ahead of Ankara peace talks, calling their approach "theatrical". Writing on X, he said: "I have not yet received official confirmation regarding the Russian level of representation. But from what we can observe, it appears theatrical. We will decide on our next steps after the conversation with President Erdogan."
Mr Zelensky earlier stormed away from a press conference minutes after landing in Ankara this morning, likely deeply unhappy at Russia's decision to send what he called a "deputy" to ceasefire talks and describing it as a "dummy" delegation. The Ukrainian President flew in - but Russian President Vladimir Putin has stayed in Moscow, with the Kremlin confirming he has no plans to do so, with aide Vladimir Medinsky being despatched.
