
Brahmavar: Two individuals lost their lives in separate incidents reported from Udupi district, one in a road accident and another due to a sudden collapse.
In the first incident, a man named Amit (45), who had sustained serious injuries in a road accident on May 12 near Ammunje in Uppoor village, passed away on Wednesday.
Amit was a pillion rider on a scooter that was heading from K.G. Road towards Perdoor when the mishap occurred. The accident took place after a goods autorickshaw made a sudden right turn. In an attempt to avoid a collision, the scooter rider Kishore applied brakes suddenly, causing the vehicle to skid. A case has been registered at Brahmavar police station.
In another incident reported from Hosuru village, a 74-year-old man named Vasu died after collapsing at an event on Wednesday night.
Vasu had gone to attend a mehendi function in Karje when he suddenly collapsed. He was rushed to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Police sources suspect excessive alcohol consumption or a heart attack as the possible cause of death. A case has been registered at Brahmavar police station.
