IPL 2025 Replacements: Should the Gujarat Titans advance to the IPL 2025 playoffs, they have selected Kusal Mendis of Sri Lanka as a temporary Jos Buttler substitute. On Sunday, GT will play the Delhi Capitals in the IPL 2025, which is scheduled to begin on May 17.

Buttler will return shortly after his England service, although he is eligible for Gujarat’s last three league games. Beginning on May 29, the seasoned hitter will be a member of both teams for the home white-ball series against the West Indies. Mendis, who has a T20 strike rate of 137.43 in 167 innings, enters the IPL having never participated previously. He pays INR 75 lakh to join.

With 500 runs in 11 innings at an average of 71.43, Buttler is now the fifth-highest run scorer in the competition and has been in outstanding form with the bat for the Titans. Together with captain Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan, he formed a reliable trio.

With eight victories and 16 points after 11 games, Gujarat has been the most reliable team in the IPL 2025 and is still leading the standings. They are prepared to advance to the postseason.

Mayank Yadav will not play in the 2025 IPL.
However, the speed wonder Mayank Yadav, who was signed for INR 11 crore before to this season, will once again miss time due to a back ailment, dealing a serious blow to the Lucknow Super Giants. Midway through the 2025 season, the fast bowler returned from injury. He played in only two games, ending with statistics of 2-40 and 0-60 against MI and PBKS, respectively.

New Zealand pacer William O’Rourke, who costs INR 3 crore, has taken Mayank’s spot at LSG.

Despite their poor performance so far in the competition, the Rishabh Pant-led team is still in the running to qualify for the IPL 2025 playoffs. After 11 games, they have five victories and 10 points, enough for seventh place. On Monday, they will play Sunrisers Hyderabad at home.

Notably, the military tensions between India and Pakistan caused the BCCI to stop the IPL 2025 for a week. Six separate locations will host the league matches before the tournament resumes for the remaining 17 games.
