Uttar Pradesh: A police encounter in Lucknow injures a cow smuggler

According to DCP South Nipun Agarwal on Saturday, a police confrontation near the Purvanchal Expressway toll within the boundaries of the Gosainganj police station in Lucknow wounded a suspected cow smuggler.

Information on a 12-tyre truck was received on May 5 in the vicinity of the Gosainganj police station, close to the Purvanchal Expressway toll. About 20 livestock were retrieved by the police from there. The cow traffickers had fled in a vehicle, according to CCTV video,” Agarwal added.

In a different Agra incident on May 6, the Agra Police killed a murder suspect in retaliatory shooting when they were conducting an operation to apprehend him and two other people in relation to a murder case. The confrontation also resulted in injuries to police officers.

The culprit, who passed away in the hospital after an altercation with the police, was identified as Aman, who, together with his brother Sumit and Farooq, was responsible for the murder of Yogesh Chaudhary, the proprietor of Balaji Jewellers, according to Agra Police Commissioner Deepak Kumar.
