B. Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill, who will take over as India’s Test captain when Rohit Sharma retires, will be eligible for the second four-day match against the England Lions, which begins in Northampton on June 6.

The five-match Test series in England is preceded by the India “A” trip. Additionally, from June 13 to 16, the “A” team will play an intra-squad match against the senior team at Beckenham. On June 20, the first Test starts in Leeds.

Despite moving the IPL final from May 25 to June 3, the BCCI statement about the team announcement made it apparent that no alterations had been made to the original timetable.

Players from IPL clubs who are either eliminated from the playoff race or are not expected to go beyond the knockout round are included in the roster.

After eight years, Karun Nair, a prolific scorer on the home circuit, is returning to the national team. The traveling group also includes Harsh Dubey, a left-arm spinner for Vidarbha who set a record of 69 wickets in the Ranji Trophy this season.

The team’s second wicketkeeper is Ishan Kishan, who hasn’t been considered for the national team in a long time.

Additionally selected for the shadow tour of England are batter Sarfaraz Khan and pacers Harshit Rana and Akash Deep, who were in the Test team in Australia.
