Citing Swamp, Znews reported that Lee shared his thoughts on marriage and parenthood while attending a robotics event in Hong Kong. He added that having children would depend on fate, saying he would leave the timing up to destiny.
Lee revealed that Wong, who was sentenced to 25 months in prison in June 2024, is expected to be released in early July. The couple plans to register their marriage shortly after her release and take their wedding photos during a honeymoon trip.
“I’ll dye my hair and dress properly when I meet her parents to discuss the wedding,” the actor said, adding that he will prepare a generous red packet, with the final amount to be decided by Wong.
He also noted that he had arranged for her to work in the education sector after her release.
Wong, a mainland Chinese national, was arrested in Feb. 2024 for overstaying her Hong Kong tourist visa. Her legal troubles escalated in May 2024 when she was found to have used fake U.S. aviation college graduation certificates to apply under Hong Kong’s Mainland Talents and Professionals Scheme. In June 2024, she was sentenced to prison for five offenses, including document forgery and submitting false information. She pleaded guilty and accepted the sentence.
Despite the controversy, Lee has stood by Wong throughout her legal ordeal and remains committed to marrying her. He proposed to Wong while she was incarcerated and was seen shopping for gold jewelry, reportedly in preparation for the wedding.
Lee is best known for his roles in classic TVB dramas including “The Return of the Condor Heroes,” “The Smiling, Proud Wanderer,” “Journey to the West,” and “Forensic Heroes.” He has three adult children from a previous marriage in the 1970s—each of whom is older than his fiancée.
Lee and Wong reportedly met in 2016 when he was 66. The couple had initially planned to wed in late 2023, but postponed the ceremony following the death of Wong’s father.
