Ramanagara: Former MP and brother of Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, DK Suresh, has now forayed into dairy politics. He is set to contest the upcoming election of the Bengaluru Urban, Rural and Ramanagara District Co-operative Milk Producers’ Union (Bamul).

Confirming his political move, DK Suresh has announced that he will file his nomination today, May 17. With his entry, the dairy politics in the state has gained new momentum.

DK Suresh is reportedly aiming to get elected from Bamul to later vie for the post of President of the Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF). His nomination marks the first step toward that goal. The KMF, one of the most prestigious cooperative bodies in the state, handles annual transactions worth around Rs 25,000 crore and maintains daily contact with over 10 lakh farmers across Karnataka.

DK Suresh has confirmed via his official ‘X’ handle that he will be submitting his nomination on Saturday, the last date for filing nominations. He stated that he is contesting the election following appeals from dairy presidents and directors from Kanakapura taluk.

There is also a high possibility that DK Suresh may be elected unopposed.
