The UPSC Civil Services Examination (CSE) is considered one of the most prestigious tests in India. The test is the gateway to becoming an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) Indian Foreign Service (IFS) Indian Police Service (IPS) officer among others. Every year lakhs of aspirants dedicate their time to prepare for what is called Indias toughest exam. While people often think that it is students and working professionals who invest in studying for UPSC today we will tell you about an actress who left her growing career in cinema and studied hard with an aim to serve the country. Yes you read that right! The actress we are discussing today did crack the UPSC exam and became a proud IAS officer. If you are wondering who this actress is then let us tell you we are talking about HS Keerthana. HS Keerthana started her career as a child artist and starred in numerous hit films and TV shows. She worked in Kannada television serials such as Karpoorada Gombe Ganga Yamuna Saraswati Muddina Aliya Kanooru Heggadithi O Mallige and more. HS Keerthana held significant value in the South cinema industry. However over the years her love for acting started drifting away and she developed an interest in studying for civil service examinations. As Keerthana started her journey she put in a lot of effort. Despite that she failed five times in the exam. The failure did not crush her spirit of working for her country. In her sixth attempt HS Keerthana cracked the exam with an impressive All India Rank (AIR) of 167. With that she became an IAS officer and served as the Assistant Commissioner in the Mandya district of Karnataka. Apart from the UPSC exam HS Keerthana also cleared the Karnataka Administrative Service (KAS) exam and worked as a KAS officer for 2 years. The actress indeed is an inspiration for many out there.
