However Anju deliberately left out the Kapadias. Anjus move did not go well with Rajesh Khanna. He then called Dimple and apologised to her and invited her to the party himself. After Dimple reached the party she did not take much time to take a jibe at Anju. As Anju recalled “On Rajesh Khanna’s birthday party she sarcastically asked me if she could come in. I also lost my cool and ended up saying ‘If you are invited then sure if not please go back.’” Do you know that before Rajesh Khanna got married to Dimple Kapadia he proposed to Anju? However the actress turned him down as she was at the peak of her career. This soured the relationship between the two. Not just that after a strained relationship with Khanna news of Anjus affair with West Indies cricket legend Gary Sobers also made headlines. This furthermore messed Anju and Rajeshs relationship. Following this Rajesh met Dimple and the two fell in love and decided to get married. Anju once shared how things changed between her and Dimple Kapadia after their first meeting. She said “When Rajesh and I met her for the first time Dimple addressed us as uncle and aunty and then I suddenly saw a shift in her attitude. She pretended to be innocent but she would take indirect digs at me.” Although Dimple was now Rajesh’s wife Anju was still a part of his life in some way. As a result even Rajesh and Dimple parted ways.
